Dr. Rahim Damji graduated from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry in 2000. Prior to dental school, Dr. Damji pursued an Honours Bachelor of Science Degree also from the University of Toronto. As part of his dental training, Dr. Damji spent two months at the Allegheny General Hospital’s Oral and Maxillofacial Department. Here, he worked with several renowned Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons in a variety of head and neck trauma cases. He subsequently was selected as resident of general dentistry at Sunnybrook Hospital upon graduation from dental school. Through this residency, Dr. Damji received advanced training in Oral Pathology, Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, and gained experience working on severely medically compromised patients. Most notably, Dr. Damji graduated from The Misch International Implant Institute in 2012 and went on to become a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Since then, Dr. Damji has gone on to take advanced courses in implantology with Dr. Michael Pikos, utilizing the all-on-four system. In addition to becoming skilled in implantology, Dr. Damji has also participated in advanced soft tissue grafting courses to treat severe periodontal disorders. Most recently, in 2014, Dr. Damji became certified in the administration of IV Moderate Sedation at the University of Toronto and now performs complex dental surgeries under sedation. Dr. Damji currently is the owner of two practices, Markville Dental in Markham and Pringle Creek Dental in Whitby.
Dr. Damji is also actively involved in the dental community serving as the President of the Abulcasis National Dental Alliance. Under Dr. Damji’s leadership, the alliance has provided continuing education conferences, mentorship programs, and has donated dental instruments for dental students in developing countries. Dr. Damji has a deep desire to provide his dental service and education to less fortunate societies in East Africa and Central Asia. Dr. Damji belongs to the Ontario Dental Association and the Toronto Crown and Bridge Study Club.
During his spare time, Dr. Damji loves to spend time with his wife, Dr. Zahra Damji, and his two young boys. Dr. Damji is an avid skier and enjoys playing baseball and hockey.
