Dr. Edward Shun earned his Bachelor of Medical Sciences with an Honors Specialization in Pathology (with distinction) from the University of Western Ontario in 2017. He continued his education at the University of Toronto, graduating from dental school in 2021. During his studies, he was awarded the J.N. Wilkinson Prize in 2018 for achieving the highest mark in microbiology amongst first-year dental students.
In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Shun demonstrated a commitment to community service. During dental school, he volunteered with the On Your Mark academic support program. Similarly, during his undergraduate studies, he volunteered with Frontier College (now United for Literacy). Both programs focused on helping elementary school students with their studies.
Committed to continuing education, Dr. Shun has completed various courses, including training in oral and nitrous oxide sedation and management of medical emergencies at the University of Toronto. He has also pursued further training in implant restoration and Invisalign. Dr. Shun maintains active memberships in the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the Ontario Dental Association, and the Canadian Dental Association.
Growing up and currently residing in Markham, Dr. Shun values the opportunity to serve his community. In his free time, he enjoys a variety of activities, including tennis, skating, and indoor bouldering. He is also fluent in Cantonese, allowing him to connect with a broader range of patients and enhance their experience at the dental office.
