Dr. Rahim Damji
Dr. Rahim Damji graduated from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry in 2000. Prior to dental school, Dr. Damji pursued an Honours Bachelor of Science Degree also from the University of Toronto.
Dr. Zahra Damji
Dr. Zahra Damji graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry in 2000. Prior to pursuing a career in dentistry, Dr. Damji completed an Honors Bachelors of Science program with a Major in Life Sciences.
Dr. Edward Shun
Dr. Edward Shun earned his Bachelor of Medical Sciences with an Honors Specialization in Pathology (with distinction) from the University of Western Ontario in 2017. He continued his education at the University of Toronto, graduating from dental school in 2021.
Dr. Naman Benson
Dr. Naman Benson graduated with Honors in Human Health Science from Ontario Tech University in Oshawa before pursuing his dental education at the University of Otago, where he graduated with Distinction in 2024.
Aneesa Rahaman-Khan - Dental Hygienist
After completing a Bachelors’ of Science in Biology and Health Sciences at the University of Toronto in 2010, Aneesa continued her studies in the Dental Hygiene program at Durham College. She graduated at the top of her class in 2012.
Aneesa pursued her dream of becoming a dental hygienist for the opportunity to help people and create healthy, beautiful smiles. She joined the Markville Dental team as a dental hygienist soon after graduation in 2012 and has excelled in her field of specialty. Not only has Aneesa provided exceptional care to her patients as their hygienist, she has also engaged in learning all administrative aspects of dentistry and provides various administrative support to the team at Markville Dental.
Aneesa feels that Markville Dental’s remarkable team atmosphere and tech savvy environment has made her feel that she has found her professional home.
When Aneesa is not in the office providing professional services or administrative support, she enjoys cooking and baking for her family and friends. In addition, she loves to travel and explore the world with her husband.
Lastly, Aneesa would like accredit her wonderfully straight teeth to Dr.Zahra’s orthodontic treatment!
Erin DiCarie - Dental Hygienist
Erin has been a dedicated member of the Pringle Creek Dental team since August 2021. A lifelong resident of Oshawa, Erin pursued her dental education at Durham College, earning honours in both the dental assisting program (2017-2018) and dental hygiene program (2018-2021). Since graduating, she has brought her expertise to both Markville Dental and Pringle Creek Dental, where she continues to grow professionally.
With a special interest in orthodontics and working with patients with special needs, Erin is passionate about making dental care accessible and tailored to every patient’s needs. A member of the Ontario Dental Hygienists’ Association (ODHA), she actively participates in continuing education, completing courses on periodontal staging and grading, pregnancy and oral health, and the effects of cannabis and tobacco on oral health. Erin is also pursuing her undergraduate studies with hopes of one day teaching and mentoring future dental hygiene professionals.
Outside of work, Erin enjoys staying active, playing soccer regularly after competing in varsity soccer during college. She also loves traveling and spending quality time with her family. Soon, she’ll be moving to Richmond Hill, but her commitment to patient care and professional development remains as strong as ever.
Sophia Encarnacion - Dental Administrator
Sophia brings over 27 years of experience in the dental field, having earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1997 from the University of the Philippines. Her extensive career reflects her passion for providing exceptional dental care and her dedication to her patients’ oral health.
After moving to Toronto from Ottawa in 2020, Sophia took time away from her practice to focus on her family during the pandemic. However, her love for dentistry drew her back, and she joined Markville Dental in November 2023, where she continues to deliver patient-centred care with warmth and expertise.
Sophia is a devoted wife and proud mother of two daughters, Patricia and Gabriella, as well as the family’s beloved fur baby, Cooper. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys traveling, exploring diverse cuisines, and cherishing quality time with her family. Her well-rounded approach to life and work makes her a valued member of the Markville Dental team.
Neha Choudhary - Office Manager
Neha brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role as Office Manager at Pringle Creek Dental and Markville Dental, where she has been an integral part of the team since March 2023. She holds a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA) from Louisiana State University, graduating with a perfect GPA in 2021. Neha is also a proud member of Sigma Iota Epsilon (SIE), the national professional management fraternity, reflecting her dedication to excellence in leadership and healthcare management.
Before joining Markville Dental, Neha gained valuable experience as an administrative lead at a downtown Toronto dental office for two years. Her move to Durham Region was motivated by a desire to grow professionally while contributing to communities that balance suburban charm with a strong sense of connection. A member of the American Association of Dental Office Managers (AADOM), Neha is passionate about delivering outstanding customer service, fostering patient relationships, and ensuring seamless administrative operations.
Now residing in Whitby, Neha enjoys exploring the scenic Whitby Shore, painting on weekends, and trying new cuisines with her husband. A nature enthusiast, she also collects National Park maps from her travels, a testament to her love for adventure and exploration.
